Meet the Promo 101 Promotional Services Staff

We're making some changes at Promo 101 Promotional Service - you may have noticed the new banner and that is just a small change. I'm putting together details about some new services that we're offering -- these will be posted soon.

Nikki Leigh - Owner Promo 101 Virtual Blog Tours
Award Winning & Best Selling Fiction & Non Fiction Author
& Publicist

Nikki Leigh began as an idea in a teenager’s mind. At about 14, she wanted to be an author and she wanted to write under the name Nikki Leigh. It took over 20 years, before Nikki met the world. She is from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.

"I wa
nt to convey time, place and character details to my readers. I choose my settings carefully and want people to understand what the setting and history contributes to the story.” Her love of the coast, history and lighthouses is apparent in her stories. On a trip to Cape Ann with her brother, Chris, she found the location for the Misty Cove series. The rugged land, hard working people and rich history were too compelling to ignore. Cape Ann and Gloucester, Massachusetts are featured in Stormy View, Widow’s Walk (Book One), Lady Lightkeeper (Book Two) and Stormy View.

“My first mystery, Lilah and the Locket, is set along the Outer Banks of NC and literally at the base of Cape Hatteras. There is extensive local history and color woven into the story. I did that to help convey the time and place to readers. Other local events will be featured in upcoming books in the Outer Banks series.”

Award winning fiction and non fiction author, Nikki Leigh, provides Web 2.0 and Social Media Marketing services. Nikki brings over 17 years of promotional experience and over 9 years of online promotional experience to each project. She works with her clients to help them establish and/or build their online presence and helps them learn to identify and reach the correct target market for their promotion. Promo 101 Virtual Blog Tours and Promotional Services are always open to finding new ways to help you learn to promote more effectively. In addition to business books and novels, Nikki Leigh is the author of Book Promo 101 and Book Promo 201. For much more information, visit www.nikkileigh.com and www.virtualblogtour.blogspot.com.

Book Promo 101 – Basics of Book Promotion and Book Promo 201 - Use Web 2.0 and the Internet to Promote are Nikki's latest books. She created these to share her promotional background with authors. Promo 101 includes tips and suggestions to help the beginning book promoter or the more experienced promoter to build a solid foundation for their promotional work. There are review questions at the end of each chapter to help the author to learn more. Promo 201 reveals many details about how to use social networks, social bookmarking, book trailers, podcasting, blogs, branding and much more, including hundreds of free internet resources. Stephanie Ward – Promo 101 Virtual Tours – Tour Coordinator

Stephanie Marshall Ward was born and raised in Greenville, N.C. She has been an avid reader and aspiring writer since she was very small child. After graduating from the University of N.C. at Chapel Hill, she did a brief stint as a reporter and staff writer for a small local newspaper. She became convinced she was meant to play a role in helping people change their lives, rather than just observing and reporting on them. Therefore, she returned to school in her hometown and completed a degree in counseling.

While working her way through graduate school as a departmental research assistant, she was discovered to have editing skills. Her professors frequently used her to edit papers they had written for publication in professional journals. Thus, thanks to the “publish or perish” system, Stephanie discovered a love of editing. She also – much to her own surprise - placed second in a national writing contest sponsored by a professional journal.

Stephanie lives in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia with her husband. She has had what she likes to call eclectic professional experience: raising children, developing prevention programs for “at-risk” kids, counseling youth and families, helping library patrons with literary selections, and running a home-based day care business. She is a tour coordinator for Promo 101 Virtual Blog Tours and a writing coach with Write at Home, which offers tutorial writing classes to middle- and high-school students. She is also a home schooling mom to three children, an avid reader, a writer, and a book blogger, and she was a featured writer for the Life Without School E-Zine.

Mitzi Rae – Promo 101 Tour Coordinator and Social Media Publicist

Mitzi is the pen name for an author who has ghostwritten hundreds of articles and she is now spreading her wings and dabbling in erotic fiction. She is the owner of Shed Your Inhibitions Press (http://1romanceebooks.com/shed-your-inhibitions/aff_19.html). At this point she is working on a series of short seduction stories, which are being published as ebooks. And she hopes to release the collection in print when they are complete. Mitzi also has an extensive background in promotional work and she uses that for her work and also for Promo 101 clients. In addition, she is studying at Loveology University to become a master sexpert and eventually a love coach. You can’t imagine the story ideas that come from the lesson. For much more information about Mitzi – visit her blog www.shedyourinhibitions.com and she can be found at – www.twitter.com/shedinhibitions and http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?100000067793560.

Donna Sundblad - Promo 101 Virtual Tours - Tour Coordinator
Donna is an editor for a several sites, is a freelance writer and a published author.

Donna Sundblad enjoys life as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She's the eldest of seven and the great-great granddaughter of a Native American named Little Beetle. Little Beetle's people were a blend of Chippewa and Mingo and lived in West Virginia. She decided to leave her culture and took on the name Ida M. Biddle. When she married a white fur trader named Marshall Prickett, their joining was not accepted by either culture, but they forged a new life together.

Donna's love of family, belief in God, interest in her Native American heritage and her love of fantasy and science fiction all influence her writing. Her fertile background shines through her YA fantasy novel Windwalker which opens hundreds of years in the past when the Stygian race welcomes the pale-skinned, diseased-riddled Jonnick to their shores despite prophetic warnings of future harm to the Land and their culture. Neither side is aware of the concealed powers of darkness that disembark with the refugees. Subsequent generations of conflict draw deep lines of division between the two cultures, neither aware that the spirit of the Mage lives within the Jonnick queen.

"What's fun for me," Donna says, "is that both of my fantasy novels came about through following the prompts and exercises found in my creative writing book, Pumping Your Muse."

Her second novel, Beyond the Fifth Gate, due out in September 2008 and features her first female protagonist who races against time to journey though five mystical gates to return to her homeworld to free her people from the bondage of a conquering race of incectoids.

Donna also writes inspirational non-fiction and is published in several anthologies including Life Savors published by Tyndale. Her articles have also appeared in The Writer Magazine, You and Me – America's Medical Magazine, and more. Her varied freelance career also includes work as a regular contributor and site editor at LoveToKnow, and responsibilities as the Fantasy Topic Editor at Inspired Author. She serves as a Tour Coordinator for Promo 101 Virtual Blog Tours and is the Senior Non-Fiction Editor and a Senior Fantasy Editor at ePress-online. A transplanted Midwesterner, she now lives in rural NW Georgia where she enjoys life with her husband, gardening and learning more about the local wildlife.

From: Promo 101 Promotional Services

By Nikki Leigh

nikki @ nikkileigh.com

www.nikkileigh.com

Testimonials for Promotional Work -

http://www.nikkileigh.com/promo_test.htm

Th This is a list of some of the benefits of social media marketing -

  1. Generating global sales
  2. Building relationships is an important part of the social media puzzle
  3. Generate a buzz about your business and products
  4. Reach your target audience
  5. Get information about you and your business to many people
  6. Create links back to your site, blog etc – we bookmark your website pages & articles
  7. Let customers & potential customers to learn more about you, your business & products
  8. Help online visitors get to know the person behind the business or other product
  9. Search engines love blogs & social sites. Your information gets to search engines quick
  10. Give people the opportunity to communicate with you through the various sites
  11. Comments can give you the chance to see what your social sites are thinking
  12. Build credibility and increase visibility

I set up accounts on Twitter, Facebook, Linked In, MySpace, Plaxo and others. The bigger sites have more detailed profiles with pictures, video, and other information based on your set up questionnaire. Profiles include bio, description, pictures, website links and other details.

Social Networks That Can Be Included in This Plan

Twitter - Facebook - GTalk Status - Plurk - MySpace - LinkedIn - Tumblr - Identi.ca - Brightkite - FriendFeed - Blogger - Plaxo Pulse - LiveJournal - Bebo - hi5 - Mashable - kwippy - Xanga - WordPress.com - Rejaw - Delicious - Friendster - Yahoo - Koornk - Diigo - Multiply Flickr - Utterli - imeem - seesmic and more

Set up a basic account on other networks - all good exposure. The list above is extensive and posting “updates” to each is automated when set up in complete.

Set up automation - this lets you enter a short post (update) and submit to 30-40 sites at once. This is free now and we can post blog information through this service. Each time something new is added to a blog – it is “blasted” to your social sites automatically including a link back to your blog. This works with the sites listed above and they add new sites from time to time.

Once your automation is ready - we set up an email address - basically you send one short email and an update is sent to each of your accounts through this site. This is used to announce blog posts, any other events or information that you want to announce to people.

Update Examples: A couple of examples of something that can be circulated to your contacts.

“FREE Teleseminar with xxxxxxxxxxx – Wed at 7 pm PST – www.website.com

“New Release from Author – For more details, visit www.authorwebsite.com

To make these sites work well you need friends or followers. These connections make your social presence more effective. Friends see the information posted on your profiles. For example – some clients have over 10,000 people with access to the information posted for them (so far).

We can maintain all emails generated by these sites. Important emails – such as interview and media requests are forwarded to you. You have log in information to access this account.

This initial set up takes 1 month to complete all profiles with full information. We set up the 30-40 sites affiliated with this automation and several other useful sites. If you choose to extend this service, these profiles can be maintained and we can build up your friends and followers to expand your social reach.

This automation is to help you have a more consistent and active presence, however you still need some regular personal involvement on social networks. This will enable you to be in touch on a larger scale than you can do by visiting individual social sites to post updates.

We can add setup and establishment or expansion of a YouTube channel where your videos can be uploaded. We upload your videos to 10-20 video sharing sites including some of your social media profiles. We offer a service that expands your friends and subscribers using your keywords.

These are the most popular packages, but we can compile a proposal for smaller packages to suit most budgets. Details for smaller packages are coming soon. If you are interested in a smaller package - contact nikki @ nikkileigh.com to discuss the options.

30-40 Site Setup with Posting and Blog Automation - $650/month – 2 month minimum ** (Includes 60 minute one-on-one consultation to learn how to optimize this setup.)

(Add YouTube and distribution set up of up to 5 individual videos - $350)

Extensive Customized Social Media Setup, Automation and Branding Options for YOU

Extensive Social Media Site Setup with Update and Blog Automation and Including Additional Online Promotional and Branding Options Chosen Specifically to Brand You and to Reach Your Online Promotional Goals - $1000/month – 2 month minimum (Prices vary depending on your goals and timeframe - but we can create a customized plan for most budgets.)

** (Includes 1 - 60 minute one on one consultation to learn to optimize this promotional campaign. YouTube and 1 additional month is recommended to collect friends and expand your reach on the networks.)

** We choose the sites to be setup based on your business, your target audience and automation we use.

**** The information above gets your social media presence established and to start building your friends. Once this is completed, we can discuss monthly service options. We can also discuss periodic updates on your profiles for your business changes and additions etc.

****** We also offer additional one on one consultations or group consultations to teach you or your team to use these promotional tools. Please contact Nikki to discuss details.

Feel free to direct any questions to Nikki @ nikkileigh.com

Heckler On Promo 101: Create and Promote with Nikki Leigh and Earl Ofari Hutchinson

Hear my radio show that caused a listener to call me disgusting, a fraud and a disgrace -- no kidding. They didn't call in, but their thoughts were posted in the chatroom. Sadly, the person's user name included Hillary - its sad to see someone acting like that and associating it with Hillary. This person obviously didn't hear the very good things we mentioned in the beginning about Hillary Clinton and anyone who read Earl Ofari Hutchinson's columns knows he is a staunch Hillary supporter.
